Since 2017, only 145 retirement villages have been built in Australia – equating to an average of 29 every year, or around 2,500 dwellings.
However, we estimate that as many as 5,000 village homes will be delivered each year until 2027, or 58 villages a year – mostly being built by Not For Profit providers looking to supplement or exit their residential aged care businesses.
