With aged care homes losing an average of $5,500 per resident per year, many are missing out on a valuable way to bridge the gap: additional services.
The latest StewartBrown survey for the June quarter shows that residential aged care providers are recording an average loss of $6.62 on everyday living.
Under the current legislative framework, the only area where providers can charge more is in additional services – and some operators are charging up to $100 a day.
