Fresh Hope Communities inaugural CEO Daniel Dwyer farewelled

1 min read

Daniel was appointed the inaugural CEO of the organisation, formerly known as Churches of Christ Community Care, in November 2020, having been Director, Group Operations since October 2016.

He was farewelled last Friday after tendering his resignation.

Board Director Kirryn Zerna wrote on LinkedIn: “Daniel Dwyer has been one of the most inspiring, visionary, collaborative, and thoughtful leaders I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

“During his time as CEO of Fresh Hope Communities, he’s unified an incredible leadership team, embedded strong cultural values, and overseen three major developments:

“At his farewell yesterday, it was incredibly moving to hear heartfelt tributes from the entire leadership team — not just for what he’s achieved, but for how he’s led: with empathy, vision, and an unwavering commitment to growth and unity.

“As a Board Member of Fresh Hope Communities, I’ve seen first hand Daniel’s rare ability to think strategically while deeply caring for the people we serve — and the people who serve them.”

Fresh Hope Communities owns and operates nine retirement villages and six aged care homes. Board Chair Raewyn Williams said in a statement yesterday (Monday, 31 July) it was Daniel's "personal decision to resign".

She said: "We are extremely grateful for the way in which Dan has developed the Executive Leadership Team, giving the Fresh Hope Communities Board the confidence to navigate this season together. To that end, we have appointed:

  • Scott Griffiths (current Chief Operating Officer) as the Acting CEO,
  • Ari Mason as the Acting Deputy CEO, in addition to her existing role as General Manager of People and Culture, and

Glen Hegner as the COO, stepping out of his Chief Information Officer role into Scott’s former role as Chief Operating Officer.
