ACCPA’s “dismay” over Government’s missed AN-ACC deadline

1 min read

Tom Symondson, CEO of the Aged and Community Care Providers' Association (ACCPA), has told The Weekly SOURCE, the peak body is "disappointed" the AN-ACC price was not announced last month, as had been promised by Minister for Aged Care Anika Wells.

"This delay will put additional pressures on providers by limiting their ability to budget and undertake business planning for the current financial year," Tom said.

On Tuesday, The Weekly SOURCE reported that the Australian Government had missed the August deadline, and the Department of Health and Aged Care had told The SOURCE only that the price would be announced before it took effect on 1 October 2024.

“We have communicated our dismay regarding the situation, as we know the significant challenges the residential care sector is facing," Tom said.

“We are putting pressure on the Department and the Government for a resolution as soon as possible."
