The Department of Health and Aged Care has confirmed to The SOURCE that since November 2022, it has received 3,129 Questions on Notice from Community Affairs Legislation and Finance Public Administration Committees.
At the time of publishing, the Department has provided 2,175 responses – leaving 954 questions unanswered.
"The Department and portfolio agencies are working to finalise outstanding responses as soon as possible," the Department said.
A spokesperson for Senator Anne Ruston, the Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care, told The SOURCE that she has put 69 questions to The Department of Health and Aged Care that remain unanswered and overdue.
The questions relate to topics such as the Aged Care Sustainability Taskforce, the size of the RN workforce gap to meet 24/7 RN requirements (see image above), the workforce shortfall, aged care incentive payments for GPs, and the Aged Care Inspector General.
