Last month, the Minister for Aged Care Anika Wells said there will be a “big public consultation process” around the funding reforms being considered by the Aged Care Taskforce, including a levy and increased consumer contributions.
Last week, The SOURCE reported first consultations are open, with the Government calling for submissions on the Aged Care Funding Principles. These consultations close 31 August 2023.
A Government spokesperson told The SOURCE that when new consultations are available, details will be published on the Aged Care Engagement Hub.
They added that The Council on the Ageing (COTA) and the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) are holding consultations around the country, including an online survey and 12-person forums.
The OPAN website says, with COTA, they are holding consultations in August and September on the new Aged Care Act and the funding principles – details of the survey and forums are available here.
The SOURCE: At the time of publishing, no consultations past September have been proposed.
