Hometown Australia adds to portfolio after buying Kingfisher Gardens in Toowoomba, QLD

1 min read

The 120-home Over 50s lifestyle resort, 4km from Toowoomba’s CBD, is now owned by the country’s leading land lease operator after buying it in July after an Expressions of Interest campaign.

It had been built and owned for 20 years by former McDonald’s franchisee and property developer Clive Armitage. Most of the villas were owned by existing residents, who paid a site fee, with about 20-25 units rented.

RWC Toowoomba Principal Paul Schmidt-Lee, who sold Kingfisher Gardens, said there is the potential to further develop the resort. It has a heated indoor swimming pool, outdoor lawn bowls rink, function facilities including a commercial kitchen and meeting rooms and intimate garden settings spread throughout the site.

Kingfisher Gardens is the 18th Hometown Australia land lease community in QLD.
