Up to 145 land lease homes for Over 55s will be built on a 7ha site by newcomer Vital Communities for its first venture in the Bendigo suburb of Epsom, adjacent to the Bendigo Golf Club, in the city 150km northwest of Melbourne’s CBD.
City of Greater Bendigo Council approved the venture and Mayor Andrea Metcalf performed a ceremony with Vital Communities to mark the building of the gated lifestyle community, with the first residents expected to move in later this year.
Operations Manager Rob Evans said the project would take two to two-and-a-half years to complete.
Vital Communities, said to be friends with expertise in development, planning, design and senior living, also have a development application for a similar land lease venture in Lilydale, 34km northeast of Melbourne’s CBD.
