Respect Aged Care is known for its ability to turn around failing aged care operations, from one losing $800,000 a month to others under serious sanction facing closure.
How do they do it?
Respect CEO Jason Binder says the first thing he does is attend the site personally. He runs meetings with staff and tries to keep it simple. He tells staff they need to make three things happen: happy residents, happy staff, and financial health.
He helps staff understand the home’s situation now, and where it needs to be. His team then begins to implement changes – it’s not hard to do when staff fully understand why they’re doing it, Jason says.
