1 min read

After a “rigorous recruitment process”, Anglicare Sydney has secured a high-flying executive as its new CEO.

Simon Miller, a Managing Director and Senior Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), will replace Grant Millard, who oversees the Christian Not For Profit retirement village, aged care and home care operator with an annual turnover of over $400 million, with more than 4,000 employees and over 1,800 volunteers.

He has more than 14 years’ experience in advising the Boards, CEOs and Executives of Australia’s top companies on strategy, growth, digital transformation, AI and advanced analytics, and M&A, said Anglicare Sydney Chairman Greg Hammond. Mr Miller has led BCG’s artificial intelligence and advanced analytics business across the Asia Pacific region, said an Anglicare Sydney statement.

Prior to his current role, his career included positions as First Assistant Secretary at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Deputy Director-General at the Department of Water and Energy, Policy Director to the Premier of NSW and Chief of Staff to the Treasurer of NSW. Early in his career Simon was also Executive Officer for the Social Issues Committee of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney.

Mr Miller holds a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM), and a Master of Public Affairs and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney. He is currently studying a Master of Divinity through Ridley College.

Anglicare Sydney has 24 retirement living villages and over 20 aged care homes across Sydney and the Illawarra. It is building additional homes in Dapto, a suburb of Wollongong; Minto, 38km southwest of Sydney’s CBD, and Gordon, 14km northwest of Sydney’s CBD.

Mr Miller will take over from Mr Millard, who has served in the role for 10 years, in February next year following a brief handover period.
