With few new aged care beds being built and continued uncertainty about funding reform, there are now enough Mums and Dads sitting in hospital beds around the country to fill around 16 aged care homes.
Hospital beds used by people waiting for residential aged care have now reached a 10-year high according to new analysis by Not For Profit provider Bolton Clarke (pictured above).
Can the Commonwealth and state and territory governments and the health and aged care sectors work together to find solutions?
