It’s aged care, but it’s not. With three specialist residential homes, respite, a day centre and now an international resort in its stable, the Not For Profit NDIS provider is proving that delivering care in the community is a winning combination for both its guests and workforce.
Two-and-a-half years after opening the doors, Community Home Australia (CHA) now has other aged care providers and Governments queuing to adapt its community-based model. Its first independent residential home, Kambera House, is located in Tuggeranong, a suburb south of the Canberra CBD. The six-bed home opened in 2021 and was full in five days.
