Across the country, hospitals are struggling to get people whose acute issues have been managed out the door and into an aged care bed or an NDIS placement.

Just last week, NSW Health Minister Ryan Park revealed there were 1,158 patients in NSW public hospitals waiting for a disability place or an aged care bed (at a cost of around $40 million a year).
