GRANDTON LIMITED: Australian luxury strata living and aged care receives funding interest for new developments

The innovative model that reimagines seniors living established by John Frame has finally realised his vision for Grandton Applecross, a unique development combining apartment living and integrated aged care – and now planning for two more projects is underway.

2025 marks both the end of bed licenses and a new Aged Care Act that defines a retirement village as a potential residential aged care provider – a game changer for village operators that can deliver accommodation and care services in a village environment. The challenges are that few villages are built to meet Class 9C aged care standards, nor are they operationally geared to provide the residential care services.

One operator that is well ahead of the game is Grandton Limited, which was founded by former Bethanie and Baptistcare WA CFO John Frame, who saw the ‘writing on the wall’ and embarked on a journey to reimagine seniors’ living outside of the traditional village and residential aged care model 13 years ago.
