The innovative health services arm of Medibank is looking at rolling out its successful South Australian virtual hospital program interstate – and piloting a new proactive primary care program in Western Sydney aimed at improving health outcomes – and keeping people out of scarce hospital beds.
With hospital and aged care beds at capacity, focus is shifting to how healthcare can be provided at home at scale. Leading the way is Amplar Health, owned by private health insurer Medibank, which is exploring new ways to offer models of care that are more sustainable and improve outcomes for the wider population.
