With labour the biggest expense for residential aged care operators, newly released 2023-24 data from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) indicates that when it comes to saving on wage costs, bigger is better.
Smaller residential aged care operators are paying an average total remuneration of $100,000 to their employees – $18,000 more than their larger counterparts – according to new data from the WGEA.
What’s new about this data?
The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) has been publishing gender pay gap data since 2014, but in 2024, for the first time, WGEA published the gender pay gaps for Australian private sector employers with 100 or more employees from 2022-23 data.
