The Aged Care Minister says the reforms will drive improvements to the quality of care delivered to older Australians and help to cut red tape for aged care providers.
Under the changes, the existing accreditation standards for residential care, home care, transition care and the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care Program Quality Framework will be brought together into a single set.
The new framework will start 1 July 2019 to give providers 12 months to transition.
