LEADERS SUMMIT 2025 presentation videos available on YouTube: Chris Baynes’ opener

1 min read

DCM Group CEO Chris Baynes launched the LEADERS SUMMIT 2025 with a national landscape review to a sold-out audience of the leading executives from the ageing sector.

The SUMMIT program was curated to lead delegates through the significant challenges and opportunities the sectors face. We at DCM have decide to make 23 key presentation videos publicly available to support the sector’s leaders in their strategy development.

They are now available to play on The Weekly SOURCE website: theweeklysource.com.au/leaders-summit-2025.

The slides, which so many delegates took photographs of on their smartphones, have been emailed to each delegate.

Chris spoke about optimism and leadership. He also detailed how the demand for aged care beds will have a dramatic impact on retirement village operators, as more and more village residents will refuse to leave and have the legal right to stay.

"Here's your typical horizontal village (RetireAustralia’s Belrose Country Club Retirement Village). How are we going to deliver aged care support in this village? Where is the village manager in this picture,” he asked.

"The distance from the community centre to that ILU at the front is nearly half a kilometre. So if you have a resident like this half a kilometre away, how are you going to be responsible for that citizen? Well, you say it's independent living, but then again, the solicitors are now telling us you have a duty of care.”
