Mark Moran Group unveils Australia’s first 6-star retirement and aged care precinct in Sydney’s Vaucluse

1 min read

Billed as Australia’s most expensive retirement village, Mark Moran Vaucluse opened last week after construction was completed a good six weeks ahead of schedule.

Set on 12,000sqm at the old Vaucluse High School, the three buildings took just 85 weeks to build, thanks in part to the huge number of workers and man hours logged.

The site has 176 retirement and aged care units and 14 dementia units, plus a 1500sqm rooftop garden, indoor cinema, rehabilitation centre, luxury spa, gym, bar and restaurant.

60 per cent of the apartments have now been sold, with prices ranging from $850,000 up to $4M. The price for the un-sold penthouse still remains undisclosed.

The unit values have been escalating since sales were first launched 18 months ago. The penthouses were originally priced at $3M for instance.

Mr Moran has been making a name for himself at the top end of the aged care market since leaving the Moran healthcare group founded by his late father Doug.

In 2010, he bought an existing aged care facility from St. Luke’s and transformed it into the award-winning Mark Moran at Little Bay.

He has another project in the wings.
