New providers appointed to deliver Mildura home care services after council quits home care

1 min read

Mildura Council has appointed five home care providers to deliver Commonwealth Home Support Programme services in the region from 1 July 2023.

In February 2022, Mildura Rural City Council made the decision to exit home care services in 2023, ahead of the introduction of the Government’s new Support at Home model, due to come in in July 2024. The change is likely to mean providers will be funded on a ‘fee for service’ model, as opposed to the current block grants or subsidies.

The five home care providers to deliver services in Mildura are:

  • LiveBetter Services Limited
  • integratedliving Australia Ltd
  • Annecto Inc
  • Sunassist Volunteer Helpers Inc
  • Mellee Track Health and Community Service

Mildura is one of many regional Victorian councils getting out of home care, with Baw Shire Council, Hepburn Shire Council, and Golden Plains Council, among many others, all making the same decision.
