It was at the 2022 LEADERS SUMMIT that Adrian Puljich, Director and CEO, told the audience of his plan to develop vertical land lease communities – a first for the sector.
He wants it to be at its proposed over 50s’ community Currumbin Waters in Currumbin on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
Gold Coast City Council rejected its initial plan for Currumbin Waters in 2018: a 340-title village with units spread over 16 buildings. The Qld Planning and Environment Court rejected an appeal in May 2020.
Council then rejected a second proposal for 12 residential towers trimmed, with the footprint shrunk by 2ha, a new buffer zone of at least 200 metres along the creek-front, and 5ha dedicated to the council as public open space.
Adrian told Lauren Broomham, DCM Editor in an interview for the current SATURDAY digital magazine that he remained hopeful of being a pioneer for vertical land lease developments.
