Announcing its FY results in NZ, CEO Glen Sowry says they are weighing up a possible move across the ditch and more development sites being purchased.
Metlifecare now has 24 villages and 11 development sites in NZ, and Mr Sowry says, “our priority in the short term is to strengthen our existing development pipeline”, but they are “clearly keeping a close eye on trends and what’s occurring in Australia.”
Australia is proving an attractive market for the New Zealanders. Ryman already has eight developments in the pipeline in Victoria while Summerset set up a Melbourne office earlier this year as it looks at development opportunities here.
The question is now – will Metlifecare follow its rivals to Victoria or set its sights on another state?
