Stakeholder feedback will help shape the proposed amendments to the state’s Retirement Villages Regulations 2017.
Key changes include:

Improved transparency in contracts and disclosure statements for prospective residents;

Enhanced codes of conduct for retirement village operators, staff and residents;

Stronger emergency procedures and safety standards;

Updated dispute resolution processes and responsibilities for resident committees; and
-
Clearer guidelines for making changes to residence rules.
The consultation also explores what information would be helpful to include in a public register of retirement villages, allowing people to make informed decisions when choosing a retirement village.
