Opinion: the case for professional development in retirement living

The ABC’s recent 7.30 exposé identified that the retirement village sector has become complacent. Less than 35% of village operators have committed to the Code of Conduct and mandatory training for village staff, required to head off further negative media and increased regulation.

As we make our way around the country, 3 x 5 cities a year, the one area we get asked to spend more time on is disputes, mediation and conflict resolution.

The managers on the ground are hungry to have the tools required to do their job professionally, and well.
