With his passion unbridled, Adrian has launched his own company as he is "expanding our understanding of the sector" and utilising the pioneering attitude that his father brought to revolutionising the land lease community sector.
He said: "We are looking at vertical living, infill developments, townhouses. Will governments recognise the value of what we are providing?"
Aliria will launch with two boutique developments (infill developments): 57 duplex houses, a community clubhouse, pool and pickleball court for people aged over 50 in Rockhampton, Central Queensland (pictured), 636km northwest of Brisbane; and 86 homes with similar amenities in Toogoolawah, in the state's Somerset Region, 114km northwest of Brisbane. The intention is to take Aliria national.
"We are looking at providing some sort of continuing care across Aliria, GemLife and Living Gems. The proposed Aged Care Act gives the opportunity to do more and we will.
"The residents do not want to leave and we want to be the best we can be, even providing residents with help to use My Aged Care (you need a degree) and finding them the best help they can get," he said.
"We are providing ageing-in-place support until the end of life. Rather than the heartache of seeing someone leaving and go to hospital and never return, the community was with the person and while they felt the death of someone, they were pleased they were with their friend until the end."
He said over 50s land lease communities have evolved because ageing has changed.
"Ten years ago it was all about a plan to wind down. Now people want to be more healthy, travel, and have a positive attitude to ageing."
