GemLife’s plan for 147-site on NSW Far North Coast approved

1 min read

Land lease operator GemLife, which has communities in Queensland, NSW and Victoria, has received approval to build a new village at Skennars Head on the NSW Far North Coast.

The project will cost an estimated $33.9 million and it originally proposed 211 sites when submitted to Ballina Shire Council in 2016.

The project will be divided in two stages, with earthworks required to create the roads and infrastructure that will surround the sites, including a clubhouse and stormwater infrastructure, to be Stage 1.

The second part will be the construction of the homes, which will require a new development application to Ballina Council, as ordered by the panel.

GemLife has already posted its new resort on its website.

GemLife’s $48-million 300-site manufactured home estate in nearby West Ballina is also under assessment by the Northern Regional Planning Panel.
