It wants operators to build, operate and maintain a facility in its Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct (pictured) in West Gladstone, 100km southeast of Rockhampton.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett says the development – which began construction in January with site clearing and earthworks – currently has a Preliminary Approval which allows for a mix of use types at the site.
“The Gladstone Region is currently experiencing a lack of availability and diversity in aged care accommodation options and this often sees our retirees seeking accommodation outside of the region,” he said.
