John Murray has announced he is stepping down as CEO of Royal Australian Air Force Association (RAAFA) WA after 10 years in the role.
John (pictured) will exit the CEO role on 30 June next year, saying he wants to spend more time with his children and grandchildren; he also believes that RAAFA WA is in a better position now than when he joined it, and wants to hand over the reins to a leader who can commit to leading the Not For Profit through a changing aged care landscape for the next 5-10 years.
“RAAFA is an organisation that I am personally extremely proud of, having walked into RAAFA 10 years ago, an organisation that was founded on the efforts of veterans, and now knowing that with confidence it can successfully go into the future, respond to any change and be an innovator in the new world of aged care is extremely satisfying.
“I am proud to have made a dent in the history of RAAFA and privileged and humbled to have been given the opportunity to lead such an extraordinary organisation,” he said.
RAAFA WA operates five residential aged care homes and seven retirement villages around the state, having most recently taken over Challenger Court from the City of Rockingham in June.
