First slabs poured for Ingenia Lifestyle’s biggest ever development

The development on the former Morisset Golf Course, on the western foreshore of Lake Macquarie, 150km north of Sydney's CBD, could become home to over 1,000 residents – making it easily the biggest land lease community in Australia.

“The entire community has been thoughtfully planned, from the layout of streets and homes, additions of pocket parks, and an entire clubhouse dedicated to wellness. Careful urban design has been undertaken, opening up view lines and avoiding grid-like streets, and creating more casual places to catch-up with neighbours,” Ingenia Communities Head of Development - New South Wales and Victoria, Michael Rabey, said.

“Residents will be able to enjoy several premium onsite facilities in the new community, including three clubhouses, a microbrewery and a floating boardwalk designed around the community’s very own lake which will offer blue space views and afternoon breezes.”

The population of Morisset is predicted to double to 50,000 people over the next decade, according to the Regional Australia Institute.

"There's so much potential to unlock in Lake Mac's southwest, and one of the most important first steps is to offer the homes and lifestyle that meet the needs of everyone in the community incljudig over 55s,"Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said as the first slabs were poured at the site.
