Goodwin hits a six with purchase of Araluen Retirement Village, Canberra

Canberra Retirement Villages has managed the 109-villa retirement village in Fisher, 15km southwest of the nation's capital city centre, for more than 20 years.

“It made strategic sense for us bringing Araluen into the Goodwin family as this aligns with our strategy of expanding the provision of services to a wider range to seniors in our community. We now have villages in Ainslie, Batemans Bay, Crace, Farrer, Fisher and Monash. Our Downer Village is also taking shape and will welcome residents in early 2026” said Stephen Holmes (pictured), Chief Executive Officer of Canberra’s longest standing and largest aged care and retirement living provider.

“In 2021, Goodwin acquired The Manor Retirement Village on the South Coast of NSW. This provided us with valuable insights into the process of integrating staff and residents into our organisation. We are confident that under the new name “Goodwin Village Araluen” the residents will experience a smooth and transparent transition period, and we wish to welcome them into the Goodwin family” Stephen added.
