Respect opens its first greenfield retirement village in Launceston, TAS

1 min read

Jason Binder, the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Respect which is known for its ability to turn around failing aged care operations, has opened Reed Estate in Prospect Vale, Launceston.

The completion of Stage 1 has seen 21 aged over 65 residents enter the independent retirement community, which is built next to Respect Aged Care Tyler Village aged care facility.

“We are going to end up with 70 to 80 independent living units. There are three stages with completion late next year.

“The demand is strong and we have not even advertised. There is not much like this around Launceston,” Jason said.

“People and community makes the place. Buildings and things are inanimate objects. They’re important, but not the core of what we do.

“People are. Communities are.”

Respect owns and operates nine aged care homes in TAS, eight homes in VIC, and three homes in NSW. Respect also operates home care services in multiple states, and has more than 700 units in different retirement villages and independent living communities.
