ACCPA sets sights on retirement village operators with new appointments

The Aged & Community Care Providers Association (ACCPA) states it is for providers of residential aged care, home and community care, retirement living and seniors housing.

Under the leadership of Tom Symondson, who was appointed in July 2022, it is known ACCPA seriously wants to become the voice of retirement living, at a time the Property Council's Retirement Living Council has increased its membership, with Anglicare Sydney and Uniting NSW.ACT being two major organisations joining in 2023.

Now ACCPA has announced "two new pivotal roles tailored to support Retirement Living and Seniors Housing operators, a sector experiencing rapid growth and transformation in aged care".

Mark Prosser, ACCPA's SA/NT State Manager, is appointed Director of Retirement Living and Seniors Housing, and Mark Berezdecky Senior Policy Advisor for Retirement Living and Seniors Housing.

Mark Prosser is well-known and highly regarded in the retirement living sector. He is Director and Co-Founder of Optimum Retirement Services, a Director of RSL Care SA and Non-Executive board member of Lakeside Villages Incorporated.

"Mark brings extensive experience establishing policy functions for retirement living and seniors housing, focusing on a continuum of care approach to meet evolving needs of ageing Australians,” said ACCPA in a statement.

Mark Berezdecky was formerly Senior Consultant at Ansell Strategic and Research & Policy Officer at the Aged Care Workforce Industry Council.

"This expansion signals ACCPA's commitment to enhancing service provision for ageing Australians," said ACCPA on LinkedIn.
