After almost 21 years at the helm of the NSW-based Not For Profit, Raad Richards has revealed he will step down from his role as Chief Executive.

Located in the greater Macarthur region southwest of Sydney, Carrington Care has grown to four aged care homes and over 300 retirement living units, plus home care, CHSP and respite services outside of Camden, 70km southwest of the Sydney CBD.

Under Raad’s leadership, the provider has successfully rolled out an assisted living model through its Riverview Assisted Living Apartments (RALA, pictured), built in partnership with long-time builder Richard Crookes Constructions. RALA is set to be expanded.

Carrington Care is also planning its massive Carrington Park development, a 94-acre site with 280 ILUs, 40 assisted living apartments, a 90-place childcare centre, medical centre, wellness centre and allied health services open to the public to be built over the next 10 years.

“Over the years, like everyone else in the sector we were faced with lots of challenges but also we celebrated lots and lots of successes and drove a vision and innovation that shaped the future of Carrington for many decades to come,” Raad wrote on LinkedIn.

“The visionary master plans we have created for both the Carrington site and the new village in Grasmere will cement Carrington’s position in the sector for decades into the future.”

Raad has pledged to remain active in the aged care sector through his involvement with peak body Ageing Australia and board director roles – he has been the Board Chair of Leigh Place Aged Care for eight years.

Mark Tutt, Carrington Care’s Executive Manager Business Operations for 13 years, has succeeded Raad as Chief Executive.
