Kim Hocking, Chair of the Perth-based Not For Profit which has been in operation since 1961, released a statement on Tuesday that they had appointed a new CEO as the organisation looks to expand.

Phil Martin, who has been with Mercy Care for five years and nine months, will become CEO of SwanCare Group, which operates Western Australia’s largest fully integrated retirement and aged care campus, SwanCare Bentley Park, on 12 May.

Phil had served as Mercy Care's Executive Director - Aged Care Services for just under four years, after previously acting as General Manager - Residential Aged Care.

“Phil’s extensive leadership experience, particularly in healthcare operations, governance, and strategic growth, aligns perfectly with SwanCare’s mission to improve the lives of those we serve," said Kim, who acknowledged the "significant role" of Interim CEO Paul Grzelec.

"His passion for compassionate, person-centred care will help us continue to build on the outstanding foundation SwanCare has established, while driving positive change and innovation. Under his leadership, we are confident that SwanCare will grow even stronger and continue to be a place where our community - residents, families, and staff - feel valued and supported.”

SwanCare Group operate four residential aged care centres within SwanCare Bentley Park, two retirement villages and SwanCare at Home.
