Russell Banham to replace Eureka’s retiring Executive Chairman Murray Boyte

1 min read

Murray has been Executive Chairman of the ASX-listed pure-play seniors’ rental land lease operator for the past seven years.

He assumed the additional role of Chief Executive Officer when Cameron Taylor suffered a non work-related accident in March 2023 and remained in the role until former Ingenia Communities Managing Director and CEO Simon Owen took over as CEO in August last year.

Murray is also Chairman of National Tyre and Wheel and a director of Australian mining company Hillgrove Resources.

“I am proud of the growth and success of the Eureka business during my time as Chair and have every confidence that under Russell’s leadership, the Board and Executive team will continue to create value and generate superior returns for shareholders,” said Murray, who holds 1.5 million shares in Eureka.

He currently serves as an independent non-executive director of HKSE-listed MGM China Holdings Limited and, until May 2023, of LSE-listed National Atomic Company Kazatomprom. He is also a member of the Audit and Risk Management Committee of the Queensland Audit Office.

Eureka also announced the appointment of Carolyn Tregarthen as an Independent Non-Executive Director from 25 February. Carolyn will join the Nomination & Remuneration Committee and Chair the Audit & Risk Committee.

She has over 30 years’ experience in Financial Services and Real Estate focussed on funds, investment and asset management across both Australia and the United States. Until recently she was the Managing Director of the Lendlease Communities business in the United States, responsible for the development and ongoing management of a portfolio of over 40,000 homes and 12,000 hotel beds.
