Another winner? Anglicare Sydney to open Mediterranean-style restaurant in a retirement village

1 min read

Heirloom restaurant, which will look out to Woolooware Bay, will be built within the Not For Profit’s luxury Woolooware Shores seniors’ living village in Taren Point, 18km south of Sydney’s CBD.

With Growthbuilt having almost completed the final two buildings to reach the village’s capacity of 411 homes, a Turning the Sod ceremony was held for the “first-of-its-kind" waterfront restaurant

“Our goal was to capture the essence of Mediterranean hospitality—a space that feels effortlessly welcoming, where people naturally gather, and where food and community go hand in hand,” DKO Senior Associate, Emma Greenstein, said.

The overall concept, inspired by the ‘blue zones’ where people live longer, will have a combination of indoor and outdoor seating, comfortably holding up to 100 people.

“As its name suggests, Heirloom isn’t just about great food - it’s about creating a place where people feel at home, where conversations flow easily, and where the beauty of Woolooware Bay enhances every dining experience. It will be a space for residents to connect, while also welcoming the wider community to enjoy this incredible location,” Woolooware Shores Village General Manager Liza Fox.

Anglicare Sydney’s construction partner is Meridian, working with property advisory services business WillowFrank, to complete the construction in late 2025, with Heirloom opening to the public shortly afterwards.

Woolooware Shores seniors’ living village has successfully introduced LDK Living’s Village Membership in place of a Deferred Management Fee.
