Mark Bindon told LEADERS SUMMIT 2024 he’d be back. Now, he returns with Kado Residences — high-end, wellness-infused retirement living with three premier coastal locations revealed

The visionary Founders of Oak Tree Group, Mark Bindon and Franco DePasquale, have launched Kado Group, their latest venture alongside General Manager Melissa Luck, also formerly of Oak Tree.

Bringing together a trusted team from their former brand, Kado Group operates as a vertically integrated organisation, managing everything from site selection and acquisitions to procurement and operations. This highly experienced team shares a deep passion for innovation and a dedication to delivering a new era of luxury retirement living.

Underpinning Kado’s vision is the decision to develop smaller, more intimate communities, fostering stronger relationships between residents and staff. The first three are at Palm Beach (28 apartments), Gold Coast; Coffs Harbour (25 apartments), NSW North Coast, and soon-to-be launched Anna Bay, Port Stephens, NSW.

“We wanted something different — something intimate, community-driven, and deeply rooted in meaningful relationships,” said Mark. “Many operators have become increasingly corporatised, but we believe people want to live in smaller, high-quality settings where they feel truly connected. We’re incredibly excited to bring this vision to life.”

After time away from the industry, Mark and Franco are energised and ready to reintroduce this innovative concept. With 20 years of experience as industry trailblazers, they know what works because they’ve spent years on the front lines, listening to what people truly want.

“Meeting financial outcomes for middle-market developments has become increasingly difficult due to the significant escalation in construction costs in recent years,” Mark said.

“In response, Kado has positioned itself at the exclusive end of the market, ensuring both premium value and privacy for discerning buyers.”

Beyond Kado Residences, Kado Group is expanding its impact with the launch of Kado Wellness — its sister brand dedicated to bringing world-class wellness solutions to a wider audience within the same catchments. Kado Wellness and eventually Kado Residences will feature bespoke wellness equipment aimed at enhancing well-being and quality of life.

These centres will not only enhance brand awareness but provide widespread health benefits while maintaining an exclusive, premium experience for Kado residents.
