WA Not For Profit Bethanie appoints Roulé Jones as CEO

Roulé Jones (pictured above) has been appointed permanent CEO of WA Not For Profit retirement living, residential aged care and home care provider Bethanie, after serving as Interim CEO since October 2023.

“Roulé has strategically led the organisation in optimising operations during this transition period, addressing day-to-day and challenging circumstances with grace, dignity, and capability,” said Board Chair Diana Forsyth.

Former CEO Chris How resigned from the Board in September 2023. Chris was with Bethanie for 15 years and under his leadership the organisation expanded to cover the full suite of aged services, including retirement villages, aged care facilities, home care, social centres, and serviced apartments in both metropolitan Perth and regional Western Australia.

Bethanie operates 14 aged care homes in Perth and south east WA, 10 retirement villages, and community housing in Peel, Dalyellup, and metropolitan Perth.

As of 30 June 2023, Bethanie had revenue for the full year of $161.0 million , up 11% on the previous year. The Not For Profit made a loss of $13.1 million, compared with a loss of $19.1 million the previous year. The loss was largely attributed to COVID-19 expenses, more than $11 million in depreciation, increased staff costs, and the cost of residential aged care reforms
