There are three Moran family members in the village and care sectors and each is forging their own futures, each with ‘Moran’ in their business name – famous for the empire father Doug Moran created in the 1950s aged care sector. They are Shane, Peter and Mark.
Shane, with his Provectus Aged Care and five ‘luxury’ aged care homes, sees the boutique high end of the retirement village market as the sweet spot. On top of his two village developments in The Rocks (with nine apartments) and Wahroonga, he has partnered with property fund giant Soul Pattinson to develop a boutique village in Cronulla (Sydney) under the ‘Sage by Moran’ brand.
He told the Financial Review last week:

The 37 apartment Cronulla village will be opposite Cronulla Beach and offer ‘hotel-like services’ including 24/7 concierge services with personal care options. The objective is to allow residents to stay in their own homes independently for as long as possible.
