Stockland has sold its four aged care facilities with 366 operating beds located in its retirement village portfolio across New South Wales and Victoria, plus a further in 92 bed licenses. Gary Barniers Opal Aged Care (photographed Left with Stephen Bull, CEO Stockland Retirement Living) has paid Stockland $25.6 million including $4.5 million of deferred payments.
Stockland and Opal have also signalled a longer term partnership to develop co-located care facilities within Stockland villages where the sites permit. (Opal Aged Care is the rebranded Domain Principal Group. This acquisition takes them to 4,900 residents across 60 facilities and 5,500 staff).
Stockland has 62 villages with 8,200 units.
