Royal Commission set to stage its final two days of hearings starting tomorrow – but no recommendations on long-term financing yet

1 min read

A reminder that the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety is due to wrap up its formal proceedings this week.

The Commissioners will be sitting tomorrow and Friday to hear submissions from Senior Counsel Assisting, Peter Gray QC and Peter Rozen QC, on their recommendations for all of the issues examined by the Royal Commission during its two-year life.

The only topic not up for discussion will be long-term financing options as the Royal Commission’s consultation on financing options is still in progress.

The Senior Counsel will also not canvas the recommendations they made earlier this year in February and March around workforce and program redesign – but will address workforce and program design topics that were not covered in those submissions.

You’ll also have a chance to have your say – interested parties are invited to make written submissions in response to Counsel Assisting's final submissions by 12 November 2020 – three weeks from now.

You can tune into the webcast from 9:30am tomorrow here.
