Ian Tregoning and Graham Hobbs’ retirement living business and the ASX-listed aged care provider bought the 2.8ha of land, which included the historic Julia Farr Centre, for $42 million in January 2024.
Now detailed plans have been submitted to Plan SA, featuring the existing 10-story Julia Farr Centre to have:
-
159 supported accommodation beds within the Ground Level to Level 4 inclusive developed and operated by Opal Healthcare. Ancillary ground floor amenities include a residents café, wellness garden, function space and residents’ kitchen.
-
56 (32 two-bedroom, 24 three-bedroom) residential apartments on Levels 5 to 9 inclusive developed by Living Choice. Residents will have access to a gym, pool, meeting/function rooms and lounge area at ground level.
There is proposed to be a new building for a retirement village with:
-
72 (6 one-bed, 34 two-bed and 32 three-bed) retirement living apartments over five levels. Ground Level: lounge area, function room, art room, games area, gym and wellness space.
-
Pickleball courts on Level 4.
16 (four two-bed, two-three bedroom and 10 four-bedroom) two-level detached townhouses in terraced arrangements are also sought.
The proposal is planned to be built in three stages, with sub-stages in each.
