1 min read

The Australian arm of the US over 55s and all-age communities owner/operator Hometown America now owns and operates 60 land lease communities in NSW, Queensland and South Australia.

Hometown Australia announced on Monday it had bought Oasis Communities’ Oasis Redhead and Saltwood (formerly Oasis) Lake Munmorah, which are still being developed. This follows the $31.75 million purchase of Macquarie Shores Home Village, which was largest land lease community sale of 2024.

“The acquisitions support Hometown Australia’s strategy of acquiring and developing quality land lease communities in desirable retiree markets where there is a gap in affordable living options for those over 50,” said Kevin Tucker, Joint Managing Director at Hometown Australia.

The communities are located in the popular Lake Macquarie and Central Coast Local Government Areas, which are highly desirable markets for retirees over 50. The communities further expand Hometown Australia’s portfolio in the Central Coast/Hunter region to 18 communities.

There will be a total of 252 homes when Oasis Redhead is complete. Currently there are 87 occupied homes with an additional 35 new homes with new residents expected to move in during the next two months. The remaining homes will be completed as soon as possible with the first 18 homes available later in the year.

Upon completion of the development, Oasis Redhead will support residents focus on wellness and connectivity with the proposed amenities including an outdoor swimming pool and spa, gym, sauna, plus other sports facilities, and clubhouse designed with communal sitting spaces, cinema, and outdoor BBQ amenities.

Saltwood Lake Munmorah (formerly known as Oasis Lake Munmorah) is a greenfield development with approval for 58 homes.
