A good news story. After 14 years working at the one village, the 700-resident Brentwood on the NSW Central Coast, and rising from gardener to Village Manager for six years, Jamie Sterland (pictured above to the left of Braden Johnson) has officially cemented himself as a national village operator by acquiring all five Settlers communities from the receiver DEM Asia Group.
Titled Teman (which means friend), the five villages will join Teman’s existing two villages, Rosedale by Teman and The Vines by Teman, both in the Hunter/Central Coast. The group now has a total of 601 homes across NSW, VIC and WA.
Sterland is partnered by Braden Johnson; his family business Johnson Property Group is a major developer on the Central Coast.
“The purchase of these five communities is our first step towards our future plans”, says Jamie.
“Our focus for Teman is to build and manage lifestyle retirement villages throughout Australia that are renowned for being welcoming, inclusive and accepting communities. We aim to diversify across the retirement sector, with a portfolio of villages having a mix of accommodation style including DMF, rentals and NDIS.”
They were guided in the purchase by Tony Massaro at PwC.
