Pat Sparrow, Chief Executive Officer of Council on the Ageing (COTA), has written a personal account of her mother’s experience living in residential respite care.
“Sometimes the personal and professional clash to challenge and inform our attitudes, behaviours, and practice,” she wrote in COTA’s newsletter, published on Tuesday.
Pat attributes the problems to a lack of truly person centred care.
It’s something for providers to consider – are their services truly person centred and free of ageism?
