The 125-bed Romsey Community Aged Care home of Signature Care, now owned by Not For Profit aged care platform For Purpose Aged Care Australia (FPACA), opened its doors on 31 March 2025, accepting its first 15 residents with 100 on the waiting list.
The home, located 65km north of Melbourne, is expected to be gradually filled over the next six to nine months.
An opening day held on 29 March attracted 500 visitors, showing the high level of interest in the community.
Romsey Community Aged Care features large rooms with ensuites, a dementia care wing, a children's playground, men's workshop, cinema room, piano lounge, billiards room, library, hairdressing salon, and beauty parlour.
FPACA, which was established by For Purpose Investment Partners, acquired Signature Care's 14 aged care homes, including six in development, in April 2024.
The investment platform, who in 2023 told our magazine SATURDAY they have a target of 5,000 beds, currently has 1,800 beds operational, with more than 800 beds in development, including:
- Mandurah Community Aged Care (expected to open May 2025)
- Grafton Community Aged Care (November 2025)
- South Bunbury (2027)
- Nerang (2027)
- Rowville (2028)
In total, FPIP has 1,100 new aged care beds planned to come online from upcoming facilities.
