HammondCare has officially opened its Miranda Mason aged care home in Sydney’s south.
The $25 million home built by Total Construction, which is based on a “stacked cottage” model, offers 60 aged care beds divided between 10 six-resident apartments. Each apartment includes a domestic kitchen and lift front porch, and each bedroom includes its own ensuite.
HammondCare CEO Mike Baird (pictured, far left) was on hand at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“Miranda Mason is part of HammondCare’s ambition to set the global standard of relationship-based care, for people with complex needs,” he said.
The home has 27 basement parking spaces, as well as community facilities including a general store, recreational space and multipurpose room; in addition, the roof is equipped with solar panels.
Miranda Mason’s first residents are expected to move in next month.
