The private operator has lodged an application to build the $26.5M facility in a quiet suburban Belrose street, 19km northeast of the CBD, its first on Sydney’s northern beaches.
But the development has already attracted complaints from neighbours over its height, size and a second entrance on Childs Circuit (pictured). Residents have also argued that the proposed 33 car spaces are too few and will force staff to park in the street.
However, the application shows the facility is set well back from the street with much of the building below eye level.
The application is also being considered as a state-significant place based on the local need for aged care.
