Rachel Argaman, who was appointed CEO of Opal HealthCare in May 2018, was awarded an Order of Australia (OAM) in the Australia Day Honours.

Rachel received the OAM for her services to Tourism and the Hospitality Industry. It recognises her career with the TOGA Hospitality Group, where she worked for almost 20 years, becoming CEO in June 2007.

“As an immigrant who chose to live in this country, I am a passionate and committed Australian, who loves this nation and its values,” she said.

“I am honoured to accept this award for the contribution I have made to the Australian hospitality and tourism sectors over 20 years.

“In addition, I am delighted that in recent years I have been able to apply what I learned earlier in my career to improve the lives of older Australians in the aged care sector.”

Rachel, who also is a Director of Seven Group Holdings and a member of the National Aged Care Advisory Council, is a former Telstra National Corporate Businesswoman of the Year.

She has always been an advocate of women in leadership roles and is now leads Opal’s 85 aged care homes across NSW, Victoria, Queensland, and WA.
