West Australian aged care and assisted living operator Oryx Communities’ $100 million plus multi-generational project The Queenslea in Claremont, 7km from Perth’s CBD, is nearing completion.
The Queenslea features a residential aged care home with approximately 100 rooms and suites and 39 two bed two bath serviced apartments for seniors. In addition to a number of one-bedroom apartments.
There also will be a Wellness and Rehabilitation Centre and an Early Learning Centre where an intergenerational programme will be conducted between the elderly residents and children, ranging from passive activities to structured and supervised engagement.
“We are delighted with how our thoughtful design has come to life to enable Oryx to offer vitality to the young and old within the Claremont-on-the-Park precinct,” said Oryx C-Founder and Managing Director, Toby Browne-Cooper on the company’s website.
The residential care home adopts the ‘Small Household’ architectural design model where a small number of large bedroom suites are centred around a shared kitchen, dining and indoor and outdoor living areas, as endorsed by the Final Report of the Aged Care Royal Commission.
The serviced apartments for seniors have also been awarded Platinum Design Certification by Liveable Housing Australia (LHA).
Oryx also operates The Richardson aged care home in West Perth and has recently obtained approval for an 80-aged care suite development in Nedlands, Perth.
